Freshly mowed lawn in Sydney

Lawn Mowing & Garden Care, Sydney

Weekly, fortnightly or one-off — mowing, edging, hedge trims and garden tidy-ups on a schedule that matches how fast your particular lawn actually grows. Real Sydney lawns, real photos below.

Why regular mowing matters

Sydney lawns don't wait for a convenient time to grow.

Kikuyu, couch and buffalo — the three most common lawn types across Sydney — all respond fast to the city's warm, humid growing season. From September through to April, growth can outpace a fortnightly schedule, especially after a run of rain. Mow too infrequently and the lawn gets stressed, weeds get a foothold in the gaps, and what should be a quick tidy-up turns into a bigger job. A consistent schedule, matched to how your specific lawn grows through the seasons, is what actually keeps a property looking cared for year-round rather than looking good for one week in four.

That's the whole approach behind our mowing service. We don't run every property on the same fixed fortnightly loop regardless of season — we set a schedule based on your lawn type, its sun exposure, and the time of year, and adjust it as the seasons change. Regular customers get a standing slot on the calendar, so you're never the one who has to remember to call.

Local knowledge

A season-by-season mowing guide for Sydney.

Spring (Sep–Nov)

Growth accelerates fast as soil warms up. A fortnightly mow in August often needs to become a weekly mow by October.

Summer (Dec–Feb)

Peak mowing season. Kikuyu and couch lawns can need weekly cuts to stay under control in the heat and humidity.

Autumn (Mar–May)

Growth slows gradually, so mowing frequency usually eases back to fortnightly as temperatures drop.

Winter (Jun–Aug)

Lawns need less frequent mowing, often every three to four weeks, while growth is at its slowest.

Questions we get asked

Mowing FAQs.

How often should I get my lawn mowed in Sydney?

Most Sydney lawns need a mow every one to two weeks during the growing season from September to April, and every three to four weeks through the cooler months from May to August. Kikuyu and couch lawns grow fastest and often need weekly attention over summer, while buffalo lawns can usually stretch to a fortnightly schedule year-round.

Do you need access to a tap or power point for mowing?

No. Our mowers and trimmers run independently of your property's water or power, so mowing jobs don't need either.

Do you offer one-off garden tidy-ups before an inspection or sale?

Yes. One-off mows and tidy-ups before a rental inspection, open home or sale are some of our most common jobs. We can usually turn these around within a few days of booking.

Do you take the green waste with you?

Yes. Clippings, offcuts and weeds are bagged and taken with us on every visit — no green waste left behind for you to deal with.

How much does mowing cost?

It depends on the size and condition of the lawn, and how often you'd like it done. Send us your suburb and roughly how big the lawn is, and we'll give you a straight price before any work starts — no obligation to book.

What's actually included in a standard mow?

Mowing, edging along paths and garden beds, and whipper snipping around obstacles like trees, fences and letterboxes. Clippings are bagged and taken with us. Hedge trimming and garden bed tidy-ups are available as add-ons if you'd like them included.

Do I need to be home while you mow?

No. As long as we can get access to the lawn — through an unlocked gate or side access — you don't need to be there. Just let us know how to get in when you book.

What happens if it rains on my scheduled mowing day?

We'll reschedule to the next available day rather than mow a waterlogged lawn, which can damage the grass and leave clumps behind. You'll be let know as soon as possible if a reschedule is needed.

My lawn is really overgrown — can you still mow it?

Yes. An overgrown lawn usually just takes a bit longer on the first visit, and may cost a little more than a regular maintenance mow. Once it's back under control, it settles into your normal schedule and price.

Can I set up a recurring mowing schedule?

Yes — most of our customers are on a standing weekly, fortnightly or monthly slot, adjusted through the seasons as growth speeds up or slows down. You don't have to remember to book each time.

Is there a minimum lawn size or a lock-in contract?

No minimum size and no lock-in contract. You can start, pause or cancel a recurring mow at any time.

Do you mow the nature strip out the front as well?

We can include the council nature strip in your regular mow — just mention it when you book so it's factored into the quote.

Do you work with strata managers and landlords?

Yes. We handle standing mowing arrangements for strata properties, rental properties and multi-property landlords who need a reliable, consistent team across more than one address.
